Whitney Youngblood Kyzer has a passion for introducing children to dance. She grew up in
Washington County where she had the privilege of learning dance at a very early age from
Penny Wright. Whitney was a Georgia Governor’s Honors nominee for Dance at Washington
County High School, where she studied musical theatre and dance under the direction of Scott
and Susie Price. She spent her summers attending workshops through MidSummer Macon
Dance under Alice Sheridan, as well as master classes with Atlanta Ballet (Sharon Story), and
Joffrey Ballet (Elie Lazar). While at Georgia College, Whitney studied Dance with Amelia Pelton
and Sharona Rubinstein, and enjoyed performing with Macon Movement Company, a modern
dance company. Whitney returned to Penny Wright School of Dance as a Preschool Assistant,
where she learned all about teaching classes and studio management. Whitney was Lead
Dance Teacher at Elite School in Sandersville for five years, under the direction of Coni Adams
Moore. As a Licensed Nurse, Whitney has a unique perspective on dance anatomy,
kinesiology, and health that helps to ensure safe practices in teaching dance. She has also
completed relevant college coursework in special education and early childhood, including
“Stewards of Children,” a child safety training program offered from Darkness 2 Light, a child
advocacy organization. She has also judged, coached, and directed in the pageant industry.
Whitney is Past President of the Pilot Club of Washington County and a current member of The
Guild of Washington County. Whitney is married to Neil Kyzer and they reside in Wrightsville.
Together they have four children: Kyndal, Kardyn, Wynn and Reagan. Whitney is excited to give back to the community that has always supported her dreams, and can’t wait to see what God has in store!
